2022 Nature Award Schools
Congratulations South Molton Community Primary School!

2022 saw some great pledges from Schools.
Winners: South Molton Community Primary School
- They have planted wildflower patches around the school pond and planted climbers such as honey suckle and Jasmin around the school fences.
- One class has created their very own hedgehog house.
- The Eco-Committee planted 60 trees and 30 Hedgerow plants.
- The have put up 2 bat boxes donated to the school, a robin nest box and a nest box for blue tits made by one of the year 6 students.
- Over 20 children have made pledges for nature at home as well!

Other commendable pledges
Kiddywinks Nursery
- Signing the Nature Recovery Declaration
- Help nature to recover around our business premises by creating and managing nature-friendly habitat.
- Reduce/avoid our use of pesticides, herbicides, peat-based composts and plastics in our business premises and grounds
Kingsley School, Bideford
- To develop diversity and provide beneficial invertebrates for the garden they have been establishing patches of wildflower meadows which is part of their pledge.
- As part of the #GreatBigGreenWeek everybody in the prep school has made 'Pledge for Nature' describing the things that they will do to help support the nature in their homes and around their communities. These range from picking up rubbish wherever they go, to planting trees, building bug hotels and eating less meat. These pledges are being made into a display and the students will review them in the future seeing if they have kept to their pledges and how it has made them feel, working towards nature restoration.
