Congratulations to the winner of the Community Group Award, Ashreigney and Riddlecombe Nature Recovery Group!
Community groups have been doing wonderful work for nature recovery this year.
Winners: Ashreigney and Riddlecombe Nature Recovery Group
The group was formed in the summer of 2022 by Neil Spencer as a response to the decline of nature in the Parish. Neil asked people in the Parish what they were passion about and from there a plan was formulated on how they would address nature recovery. They have held guided walks on Culm grassland to build an understanding of its importance as one of the most valuable habitats. They have planned and organised the creation and installation of 100 nest boxes for priority species such as Pied flycatcher, Dipper and Swift.
