This has been a month of Wild weather and Wild Isles.
The latest BBC series Wild Isles, with David Attenborough, has highlighted the incredible wildlife and landscapes found here in the UK. Sadly, in the last of the series,the programme raised the issue of the biodiversity loss and the role that communities can play in nature recovery. This programme also features a certain Island off the North Devon Coast!
This 5-part inspiring series is well worth a watch and shows we can all help nature recover however big or small our actions are. Together we can turn the tide on nature loss and as a first step to support nature recovery you can read and sign the North Devon UNESCO Biospheres Nature Declaration here:

Aprils Pledges
- Kim Put up two additional bird-boxes
- Callum and Zander made a nest box.
- Skatemolton made 2 nest boxes
- Janine has been planting hornbeam trees
- Lesley and Earth Kind made nest boxes and pledged to create a wildflower patch in Shirwell.
- Suzanne has pledged to do water quality monitoring on the river Taw
- Simon has pledged to Re wild 25 acres of land in Croyde
- 60 people have signed the Nature Recovery Declaration
- South Molton Save Our Swifts organised a free talk on Swifts by Tom Hynes.
Aprils Activities
South Molton Save Our Swifts group organised a talk on Swifts by Tom Hynes at the Methodist church in Town. Despite Storm Noa arriving that day, 28 people from across Northern Devon attended the talk and left enthused to help this priority species (Main image Photo Credit: Fran Sendall)
