What an inspiring evening we had last night Biosphere Nature Awards “A celebration of the Pledge for Nature” Project at the Plough Arts Centre.

The event had exciting talks from members of the community and the presentation of the Biosphere Nature awards which recognise the individuals and groups going above and beyond for nature recovery.

8 awards were presented in the following categories schools, youth, gardener, community champion, community group, farmer/landowner, business, and a lottery player award. These were to recognise the outstanding work for nature recovery in 2022.

There were also awards handed out to Pupils, who had been nominated by their schools, to recognise their efforts in helping nature recover both in their schools and communities.

We had 8 wonder presentations from Lucy Willans, Jack Harty, Lucy Battern, Tatyana Keary Matthews and Shannon Keary, Claire Moodie, Pete Jollands, Peter Kelly, Tom Humpreys and Bryony Paul.

The event saw the premier of two short films which document the stories of individuals and groups in the community and how they have engaged with the Pledge for Nature Project. Part of a 9 part series being filmed and produces with North Devon Moving image.

Finally to everyone who attended the event and made it the special evening it was.
