This month we launched our kestrel box giveaway and another round of our Nature Recovery Challenge Fund! 15 landowners across the Biosphere will be receiving a free kestrel box to put up on their land to encourage nesting. We are excited to see how they get on! 

This month saw lots of great pledges:

• Sally in Highampton has planted 160m of new hedge
• Braunton Men's Shed have been busy making 20 bird boxes to put up around Braunton
• Susi is trying to encourage more floral diversity on her land
• Leon in Croyde is learning about UN Sustainable Development Goal number 14: Life Below Water. As part of this he is picking up litter from local beaches! 
• Winkleigh Biodiversity Group have been giving out free trees for the community! 
• Pura Vida Stores are working hard to provide a service for the community so they can buy more sustainable products and enjoy a lifestyle without single-use plastic!

Nature Recovery in your communinty: What can town and parish councils do?

This month we also hosted another webinar in our Nature Recovery Plan series, this time exploring what local residents and parish and town councillors can do. The webinar saw presentations about the Nature Recovery Plan, Pledge for Nature and Wild About Devon, followed by talks from local town and parish councillors who are working with their community to encourage getting involved in different initiatives for nature recovery.
