Lots to Celebrate!
International Biosphere Day
On the 3rd of November we celebrated International Day for Biosphere Reserves. As part the Celebrations we visited Blue Coats C of E Primary School in Great Torrington to do an Assembly about the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. We funding from the Plough Art Centre we delivered workshops for Year 3 and 4 classes that connected children with rivers as part of the “Rivers Walks” Project. The display of their work is at the Plough Arts Centre, in Great Torrington.
Appledore Primary
We visited Appledore Primary school where we delivered an assembly on the North Devon Biosphere and where fortunate enough to speak with some of the children from their school Eco club about some exciting plans for developing a pond in the school grounds and developing their School Micro Reserve.
South Molton
We were invited to visit South Molton Community Primary School for their termly non electricity day. The school had applied for trees and hedges for the woodland trust to plant within their School grounds. As part of national tree week, we joined the children from the school eco council to plant the trees and hedges within their School Micro Reserve.
