Nick Rosen, writer and documentary maker, has purchased a wetland field in Cookbury and is in the process of setting up a re-wilding project. Following a successful first meeting, volunteers are being sought for ‘re-wilding’ action days at land near Cookbury.

Friday March 6th: Preparation and permaculture-Nick will meet volunteers at the church at 2.30 pm
Saturday March 7th: Scything and tree planting-Nick will meet volunteers at the church at either 9.30am or 11.30am to be taken to the site. Lunch and soft drinks will be provided.
Where: The action day meeting point is in the middle of Cookbury village — outside the Norman Church St John and the Seven Maccabees.

Mark hopes that with the help of the local community and pupils from Chittlehampton Church of England Primary School, the tree planting will not only provide much needed help for the environment but also create a beautiful woodland for existing and future villages to enjoy. The site for the mass planting has kindly been made available by local landowner Jon Palk. The tree planting will take place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st March.
Well done Mark!-This is an awesome example of community members working together to make space for nature 😀
